Virtual reading Club “Literature refuge”

The reading club “Literature refuge” will be led by Paula Jarrin, Llibreria Al·lots bookseller, that will comment on the novel “Yo voy, tu vas, él va” (Editorial Anagrama; “Les formes del verb anar” for the Catalan Edition – Angle), by the German writter Jenny Erpenbeck.

The refugee crisis is the main theme of the book that won the 2019 Bookseller Prize in the Other Literatures category. Erpenbeck, born in East Berlin in 1967, published the work before the great wave of asylum seekers that hit Europe in 2015. The book tells the story of a recently retired philology professor who is involved in the fate of some African refugees who will make him recall his own condition, when he had to flee Poland during World War II. The work reflects the bureaucratic maze that refugee people face and the rejection of the society that should host them.
