European Days of Local Solidarity in Preili, Latvia in cooperation with Nizhyn, Ukraine and Ozurgeti, Georgia

The main goal – to inform local people in Latvia about the Eastern Partnership countries Ukraine and Georgia to raise public awareness of development cooperation and education issues. To involve children and young people more actively in development cooperation processes, Preili municipality in cooperation with Nizhyn (Ukraine) and Ozurgeti (Georgia) is organizing children’s and youth creative work competition ‘Hand in Hand with Friends’ and common exhibition in Preili Music and Art School (Latvia). Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 there will be not the ceremony of the 102nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, but authors of the best works will receive their prizes by post. A remote webinar will be held for the three municipalities involved in the project to provide information and education on the Sustainable Development Goals and the opportunities for municipalities to get involved in achieving these goals, about the further cooperation of Preili, Nizhyn and Ozurgeti municipalities, exchanging of experience and the best examples. In order to inform the general public about SDGs, a video will be created for posting on municipal websites.
